Activities carried out in VIZHI – Youth Village
- Bank Linkage Program: IYD has made intensive efforts to avail Bank Loan for IGA to 52 women SHGs from 9 villages. 1125 women availed loan amount of Rs. 13, 18,000 from Banks. The group has utilized the loan amount for livelihood activities.
- Training / Workshops:
- Organized a workshop on ‘Women and Economic Development’ through Panchayat Raj Institutions to the local leaders sponsored by DRDA.
- IYD organized Network (GRAMNeT) meeting at 3 places namely Madurai,
Dindigal and Sivagange. 35 NGOs participated in the meetings. - Organized Training program on Rule of Law and the Indian Legal System’ under at T. Andipatti, in association with various local NGOs.
- IYD sponsored Mini Health Centre run by C. Pudur youth club treated 2248 cases, 925 school children undergone health checkup and 9 cases motivated for family planning, during the reporting period.
- The Social Welfare Board continues to support the
Creshe at T.Andipatti, where in 32 children enrolled. - 200 people participated in the total sanitation campaign held at T.Andipatti under Rural Sanitation program sponsored by DRDA.
- The Mini health
centre at C. Pudur village continues to function, under the supervision of Youth Club representatives. - IYD organized Network (GRAMNeT) meeting at 3 places namely Madurai,
Dindigal and Sivagange. 35 NGOs participated in the meetings.
