Project Location:

The project area consists of cluster of 12 villages in two taluks of Tumkur District, i.e. a) Tumkur taluk – Bellavi & Kora Hoblis and b) Sira taluk – Kallambella hobli, the villages namely 1) Doddaveeranahalli, 2) Sorekunte,  3) Chikkaseebi, 4) Hosamallanahalli, 5) Kolalukunte, 6) Kempadalihalli, 7) Saluparahalli, 8) Haldodderi, 9) Venkatapura, 10) Jodidevarahalli, 11) Sheebi Agrahara and 12) Dodda Sheebi

Project Summary:

  • Provide livelihood through promotion of agri- horti- forestry
  • To increase the agricultural productivity through promotion of appropriate technologies like tree-based farming, sustainable agriculture, and adopting water harvesting technologies.

Outputs:

686 acre of land belonging to 722 tribal families in project villages has been brought under tree-based farming system with the incorporation of fruit species like mango, cashew, tamarind and forestry species all along the field bunds

Soil & Moisture Conservation: 20246 CMT of TCB works have been completed which helps in crop cultivation including orchard plots under rain fed condition by retaining runoff water and reduces soil erosion.
Water Resource Development: Water Tanker – 1 no, Cement rings – 556 plots, Pitcher Irrigation – 400 plots, Check dam – 1 no
