Target Population: The Target population groups in Kolar that are risk and vulnerable to HIV infection as well as persons living with HIV/AIDS include:

a) High-risk groups (HRGs): Female sex workers (FSWs) & Men having sex with men (MSM),
Project Area of LWS Programme:

Link Worker Scheme is community-based intervention for comprehensive management of HIV/AIDS. IYD is implementing this program as District Implementing Agency

Outreach Services:

• Effective use of IEC materials
• STI / ICTC Services
• Condom Promotion / distribution:
• Creating Enabling environment
• Promoted 5 to 10 Village Volunteers in each village

Highlights:

• 884 FSWs have been identified and reached by Link workers, 923 is the target in Sampoorna project area.
• 262 FSWs tested in ICTC centre.
• 577 FSWs tested in STI treatment.
• 94 PLHIV have been identified and reached by Link workers, 154 is the target in Sampoorna project area.
• 94 Referees to IPPCC and DLN.
• 4 MSMs have been identified and reached out of project target of 9.
• STI Treated – V.P
• ICTC Tested – V.P
